HTML – Starting point of Web

HTML , what is it?

Once upon a time, it was around 1980 – 1990, Tim Berners-Lee, a Physicist wanted to write and share the document through the Internet. So, he and his team invented the web browser and a language called HTML or Hyper Text Markup Language.

Nowadays, HTML is one of the most essential things in Web technology, especially for building a website.

In HTML, the elements are represented by tags which are not displayed in the web browser, but the web browser will use HTML’s tag to render the website’s content.

HTML structure

The following code is the basic structure of a HTML page. The beginning of a HTML page is always with the tag <html> and ending with closing tag of itself </html>. <head></head> is used for marking header block, <body></body> marks for body block or the main contain of website.

HTML and HTML 5

HTML 5 is the latest version of HTML.

HTML5 has more semantic tags such as <header>,<main>, <article> and <section>, etc.

Besides, HTML5 has some new attributes of form elements, graphic elements and multimedia elements.

Overall, HTML5 has more functions and utilities that help people build a better website with the modern web standard.
